True Godliness or Self-righteousness (PICK ONE)
True Godliness is achieved only through salvation, which can only be obtained through repentance and forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ's death at Calvary and allowing Holy Spirit to fill you with His presence and power each day. Holy Spirit comes into a life that has been surrendered to the saving Grace of Jesus Christ. He will come in and dwell inside of you as your teacher, your comforter, and your constant guide. He will empower you to live your life according to the Word of God and also, He will empower you to function each day displaying the fruits of HIM, so you will not mind the things of your flesh. The fruits of HIS spirit is as follows: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. There is no law against these things. (Galatians 5:2-23). However, if you choose to operate in your life through the "works of the flesh", there have to be laws in place in the earth to govern you according to those practices. The works of the flesh are desires of your sinful nature. They are as follows: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, practicing discord, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. If you choose to practice any of these you will not inherit the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). I chose to began my faith walk through salvation when I was very young as a teenager, but later when I was in my mid-twenties the spirit of self-righteousness tried its best to overtake my life. This was a very challenging period of time in my life as a Christian; therefore, I had to pray, fast and humbly allow Holy Spirit to come into my life as my " supernatural life coach", through the power of God's word, to help me to fight and conquer this demonic spirit. As a young women, a wife and mother of four small children I would experience life situations that compelled me to practice true godliness in my personal life. Again, Holy Spirit as my " supernatural life coach" walked me through many days and enabled me not to become a self-righteousness woman, wife and mother to our four children. By the sufficiency of God's grace, I can truly say that I am prevailing in my faith walk of true godliness, now that I am more mature in my life as a Christian!
Today as I continue to live my life as a wife and mother of our four adult children and our four grand-children, I do not choose to live a true godly life because I am better than anyone else, but instead I choose each day to live a spirit led life before my Heavenly Father in order to be pleasing in HIS sight! At the blessed age of 57 years mature, I am not totally perfect yet, but because of my unrelenting faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord, I am being perfected each day and empowered to do so, through the power of Holy Spirit! To further emphasize this important fact, my family and I are not perfect, yet, but each day I choose to pray and rely on our Perfect Heavenly Father to surround and cover us in His powerful unconditional love. As a result, His spirit enables us with the strength and power to strive to be perfected by His glory each day as we press forward in our lives and as a family! I choose to intercede in prayer and welcome Holy Spirit to empower us each day as we press forward to the prize of a higher calling through Christ Jesus our Savior and Lord! If you receive true godliness through accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and also receive the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead, which is Holy Spirit you too can live a life of true godliness oppose to walking in pride and living a life of self-righteousness. Self-righteousness is a spirit of pride and self reliance and it hinders us from living a life according to God's perfect will. I can testify that relying on my abilities will get me no where in my life; however, surrendering my life to Holy Spirit as my "supernatural life coach" has allowed me to enjoy a life of true godliness and my entire family is reaping the benefits as I live a spirit-filled life each day!
The Word of God has instructed us on how to live according to God's will and not according to our own will or desires. True godliness is God's perfect will for each of us; however, we have to choose to be godly through God's sufficient grace each day as we live here in earth. According to, I Timothy 6:6 which states, "godliness with contentment is of great gain." You are a winner when you choose to live godly according to God's Word. Discontentment comes into our souls when we choose not live godly lives and this is the desire of satan for your life. He once was in Heaven and he knows what God's will is, first hand! He in his self-righteousness and pride lost it all, and also he lost his glorified body as well. His role now is to walk here and there seeking someone to devour. (Read Job 2:2, GNT) Discontentment is of no gain in your life as a believer. Satan uses discontentment to rob us of our rightful place in God's Kingdom here on earth. Due to the fact, he can never be Godly again, and the fact, that he will never get a chance to get back to Heaven, he has made it his number one goal is to get us to agree with his plan to cause us to choose to be ungodly, so that we will never inherit the Kingdom of Heaven either! To win over him and avoid his deceitful schemes you must take heed James 4:7-8a (GNT), which read as follows: "So then, submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil and he will run away from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you". Selah/Meditate on this.
Self-righteousness is a spirit that we as Christians must be aware of in our daily lives, because it is the spirit that opposes true godliness. True Godliness according to scripture is found in I Timothy 4:8, which states, "For bodily exercise profits little; but godliness is profitable unto all things having promise of the life that now to us, and is of that which is to come. True godliness will enable us to live our lives here in the earth according to God's will and standard and will ultimately lead us to Heaven after this life on earth has come to an end. However, on the other hand self-righteousness will allow us to be filled with pride and it will produce nothing but arrogance in our lives, therefore; true righteousness can not penetrate our souls. Be mindful, if it is left unchecked, we will be lost and end up in hell for eternity. Self-righteousness will not allow you to be humbled enough to heed instruction or correction. It rejects rebuke, so when this spirit takes it course in ones life, it causes its victim to believe they are exalted above and better than all others. True godliness will cause you to be humble and allow correction when it is necessary in your life's journey, so that you can mature from life's mistakes and failures, in order to be able to help someone else to grow from what you have gone through and have learned on personal level. Sadly, the spirit of self-righteousness does not discriminate, so you must walk in the spirit of humility and always be teachable, to avoid its deceitful trap! It can enter anyone who allows it to enter into their lives! It can affect a person from the pulpit to the pew and beyond!
God gave us an alternative to this spirit and if we will allow humility to possess our souls we can be delivered and rise up in true godliness and be an overcomer in this area. True godliness will permeate our souls as we choose to be led by Holy Spirit and as we study God's word and become a doer of His word. Holy Spirit will empower us to walk in His will, so that we will not mind the works of our selfish flesh. Self-righteousness is birth in us through pride and haughtiness when we choose to be unteachable, uncorrectable through the Word of God. Also, self-righteousness is nurtured through our mind, will and emotions, which are the triplets of our souls that will never be saved and thus will ultimately lead us to destruction and hell! The only way our mind, will and emotions (our soul) can be saved or controlled is by submitting to the power of Holy Spirit's indwelling as our "supernatural life coach"! Holy Spirit is the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead and if we will allow Him to be activated in our personal lives, He will quicken and bring us to life and godliness. He will empower us to live lives of true godliness and the ability to reject the detrimental spirit of self-righteousness! As an end result we can walk each day living submitted lives governed by humility, which is pleasing to God Almighty!!!!
I pray all who read this blog post will be encouraged and exhorted to repent, become born-again and fill with Holy Spirit and allow HIM to become your personal "Supernatural Life Coach" in the days and years ahead, even until the DAY OF CHRIST'S TRIUMPHANT RETURN! In doing this you can walk confidently each day knowing that you are conducting your lives, pleasing unto God and as a result, you will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth and most rewarding for eternity! AMEN!!!!! Maranatha, "Jesus is coming"!!!!!
Many blessings, and well Wishes, always!!!!!!

SCRIPTURE TEXTS:
* I Timothy 4:8- 10 (TPT)- For athletic training only benefits you for a short season, but righteousness contains the promise of life, for time and eternity. Faithful is the WORD, and everyone should accept him! For the sake of this ministry, we toil tirelessly and are criticized continually, simply because our hope is in the living God. He is the wonderful life-giver of all the children of men, and even more so to those who believe.
* I Timothy 6:6 (NLT)- Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.
* II Peter 1:5-7 (NLT)- In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance wit h godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection with love for everyone.
* I Timothy 6:11-12 (WMB)- But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. Fight the goo fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.
* I Timothy 3:16 (NLT)- Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith; Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.
* Proverbs 16:8 (NLT)- Better to have little, with godliness, than to be rich and dishonest.
* Proverbs 14:34 (NLT)- Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people.
* Titus 2:11-15 (NLT)- God's marvelous grace has manifested in person, bringing salvation for everyone. This saving grace teaches us how to live each day as we turn our backs on ungodliness and indulgent lifestyles, and it equips us to live self-controlled, upright, godly lives in this present age. For we continue to wait for the fulfillment of our hope in the dawning splendor of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus, the Anointed One. He sacrificed himself for us that he might purchase our freedom from every lawless deed and to purify for himself a people who are his very own, passionate to do what is beautiful in his eyes. So preach these truths and exhort others to follow them. Be willing to expose sin in order to bring correction with full authority, without being intimidated by anyone.
